This week it has rained and rained and rained in Phoenix. The desert is down right soggy in a way that I have almost never seen it. When it rains in March, the flowers bloom on cacti and the desert is full of color. Rain in December still spurs color, as new leaves sprout on the Ocotillo and the plants are saturated, but the colors are more muted. The desert is a palate of pastels, brought to life by glints of light as the sun comes through the clouds to reflect off of captured water. I took these photos yesterday morning when the rain finally stopped and the sun was occassionally peeking out from the clouds.
